QUESTION
Community
What is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
Sharing with others tips and tricks to becoming more sustainable like reusable make up bottle ( just found out you could do this), learning proper recycling technique, and so on. I plan to plant a tree next week and will continue to talk about the benefits with members of the community.
I recently had a conversation with friends about the recycling crisis - Australia has begun using printer cartridges to pave their roads! It not perfect but I think that its great countries are now thinking about these things and trying out alternative solutions that should have been considered long ago. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/12/world/australia/recycling-plastic-trash.html
Nature provides a safe and calming place for me to reflect and appreciate my life. I am able to reset my energy and have a better mental focus in work and personal situation. Nature also provides a playground for my favorite activities with friends and with my dog.
(Photo climbing Mount Lindsey with an 8 pound Yorkie in my backpack - 14,048 feet above sea level); rock climbing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, etc...
On my journey to figure out how I am going to complete my food foraging challenge in the next few weeks. I am in awe to see that on my way home from the coffee shop I am working at (a two block walk) there are 4 different types of tree with edible components; seeds, apples, leaves, etc...

Today I contacted the department of Development Services and requested to be directed to the person or people who would bee willing to talk about adding more green spaces to our developing neighborhoods specifically Globeville/Elrya Swansea neighborhood where many people are fighting for more greenspace currently. We will see if I get a response!
Next I will contact
During my search I found this website helpful - https://www.therenewalproject.com/want-more-green-space-in-your-community-heres-where-to-start/
Information on the neighborhood - https://www.coloradotrust.org/content/story/making-noise-globeville-and-elyria-swansea
Noted as the most polluted zip code in the entire United States.
Surrounded by massive-construction projects contributing to new automobile pollution and adding to existing old Superfund pollution.
Hardly any grocery stores/markets, overcrowded, loud semi trucks, not enough safe sidewalks, sparse green space for the public.
