Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 6 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

Prem Mani 10/15/2019 8:44 PMOur recyclable waste goes out only twice in a week, but we also get some folks from the recycling shop, who collect it from us, they earn a small amount in collecting and selling recyclable waste. -
Prem Mani 10/15/2019 8:36 PMReuse that old duty-free bags that you got from the airport, they are strong and last long terms of recycling. -
Prem Mani 10/11/2019 8:07 PMYesterday was hectic, we had a session with the local BBMP team on Waste Segregation and what happens after that. It is appalling to know that some of the collectors are still unaware of the importance of keeping the waste segregated. So that session was conducted with the local group. So are you making sure that your segregated waste stays so and disposed off properly? -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Prem Mani 10/10/2019 10:44 PMFirst, being a family of four, our car always has four steel bottles of water. In case of functions or larger gatherings, our option is to buy the 20 liters can, with a tap, that helps cater the needs of a larger number of people. If at all we need to buy bottled water, we do reuse that bottle at home, before disposing of it properly. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
