Eric's actions
Energy
Switch to Cold Water
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
High Impact Action Track
Ditch the Lawn
Water
I will replace my lawn with a drought-tolerant landscape and save the water, money, and time I used to spend cutting the grass.
Health
Go get a check up
I will make an appointment for my annual physical.
Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Nature
Tend a Garden
I will tend to a garden each day, or work on starting one.
Nature
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 30 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside.

REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Tend a GardenHave you ever had a significant experience in nature that altered your perspective or focus? If so, please describe it.
Eric Leatham 10/22/2019 8:39 AMToo many to name. Almost every time that you get away from people it is special. Time to reflect and ponder. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Reduce Single-Use DisposablesBringing your own bags and containers to the grocery store, and even to restaurants for leftovers, are a couple of ways to reduce your waste. What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Eric Leatham 10/18/2019 8:27 AMNeed to be better at refusing single-use items when they are automatically offered or simply put into my bag. Really good at using my own soda and coffee cups and bringing my own shopping and mesh produce bags. Working on having reusable silverware and tupperware for restaurant visits. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Go get a check upHow do you practice self care?
Eric Leatham 10/18/2019 8:24 AMTry to stay up to date on health issues, visit doc annually, try to eat health & exercise and take a more active approach concerning doctors and insurance. -

Eric Leatham 10/18/2019 8:22 AMWould like to have more funds to spend on other energy savings items. Really want to add solar to the house.
