Went on a run around my hometown in Oregon City. The view from above Willamette Falls. Gratitude to the original inhabitants of the area, the Kalapuya, Clackamas and Molalla Indian tribes. This is their sacred fishing area. Recently, the Grand Ronde purchased the are of the Blue Heron Paper Mill. They have erected fishing platforms down in the boiling waters of the lower falls to harvest salmon, steelhead and lampreys as their ancestors did.
Going to spend a lot of my work day OUTSIDE today! Fortunate to have a job where I spend a lot of time in the elements... And today, the elements are looking good.
Kathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How do we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?
I agree with this... Gratitude for an individual means being thankful and gracious for each day we are here. As a society, it would make a better place for all if more were thoughtful, gracious and appreciative of everyone and respect differences.
When one is eating, that is what one should focus on. Many times I would just eat while scrolling through my phone or channel surfing. I'd finish and realize that I did not get to enjoy what I had just eaten!
