REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Julianna Ladani 10/21/2019 6:27 AMWhat stands in the way is money. Reusable water bottles are way to expensive. Some are $45. It makes me feel special when I help the community by helping us have a cleaner and better environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Take ControlHow do environmental health, community health, and your personal health intersect?
Julianna Ladani 10/21/2019 6:24 AMThey intersect by health on a bigger scale, a medium scale, and a small scale. But, they are all the same importance. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Meet My Local FarmersWhen you know who produces your food, you are connecting personally to your complex regional food system. What are the advantages of knowing who produces your food and where it comes from? Do you think this might enable someone to advocate for a better quality of life for those who produce their food, both near and far?
Julianna Ladani 10/21/2019 6:23 AMMaybe you can find out what's in it and if it is good for you or not. It could enable someone to advocate for a better quality of life for those who produce their food, both near and far by making food more healthy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Plant an Herb GardenConsider the ways you can garden: a plot of land? a patio container? hanging basket? windowsill gardens? What would work best for your living situation and lifestyle?
Julianna Ladani 10/11/2019 7:53 AMWhat would work best is a plot of land since it is more healthy I believe for nutrients. Also, I have a big backyard so I already have a garden -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Audit Toxic Cleaning Products in my HomeTo what extent do you believe that environmental factors contribute to your own health or issues with health?
Julianna Ladani 10/11/2019 6:01 AMIt could pollute the air which could cause health issues or my own health. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Learn About Local Environmental Justice ConcernsWho is most affected by environmental degration and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?
Julianna Ladani 10/11/2019 5:57 AMI would say the animals are getting the most affected. This is from all the littering we make. They might mistake stuff for food. Like turtles. They mistake plastic bags for jellyfish and eat it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Julianna Ladani 10/10/2019 6:25 AMYou could use the three R's by recycling plastic, or anything else that effects our earth. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Julianna Ladani 10/10/2019 6:24 AMIf you have an extra t-shirt you could make it into a bag. You won't have to carry things with your hands, in a cart, or to accept a reusable one. You could set up a group that makes bags out of shirts. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Learn About & Practice Sustainable FashionHow can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?
Julianna Ladani 10/10/2019 6:20 AMJust by being kind to people and the environment can help you express your personality, creativity, and values.
