Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Waste
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Eco-friendly GardeningWhat are the most prominent water concerns in your area? Examples include drought, flooding, pollution, access, security, and privatization.
Rashmi Kamble 10/09/2019 2:21 AMmost prominent water concerns are flooding during monsoon and water scarcity during dry season. Water scarcity is elevated due to poorly managed water system, cultivation crops with higher water demands, lack of infrastructure, etc.
Lack of policies and lack awareness make it difficult to tackle the water related issues.
Also, pollution and inaccessibility to water are major problem areas. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Rashmi Kamble 10/09/2019 2:17 AMI generally carry things out in my hands, we can do a rent a bag system. You can pick up the bag from the store and return it later. After returning it, the cost of the bag will be given back to the user. I think, this system will reduce the usage of disposable bags.
