Jamie Jacquart 10/21/2019 11:27 AMThere is something about planting a tree that is not like any other experience. In addition to intentionally deciding where it will go, I was thinking of all that it will see it's lifetime. How many people will it shade? How many animals and birds will call it's branches home? How will the other trees in the neighborhood welcome it into their ecosystem? -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHigh Impact Action Track Plant TreesHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
Jamie Jacquart 10/21/2019 11:25 AMThe best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is today. -
Jamie Jacquart 10/21/2019 11:23 AMLoved going to a local farm and meeting the farmer, the animal curator, and seeing where our food comes from. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Buy From a Farmers MarketWhat is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?
Jamie Jacquart 10/21/2019 11:22 AMWe have a local farm that does both a meat share and a vegetable share. They had an open farm event so even though we are not subscribed to their season long program, we could purchase some items a la carte, which was great. Looking forward to eating local! -
Jamie Jacquart 10/21/2019 11:21 AMExcited to try some local seafood from our fish market tonight! -
Jamie Jacquart 10/16/2019 7:48 AMEven when I'm not posting to this board my actions, it's amazing to see how easy it can be to make small, but impactful changes! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Advocate for Greener VehiclesReducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?
Jamie Jacquart 10/16/2019 7:47 AMIn Massachusetts there are incentives for state agencies to get either battery/electric or hybrid vehicles. With such a large fleet of vehicles (100), we are replacing something every year. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHigh Impact Action Track Learn About Local Environmental Justice ConcernsWho is most affected by environmental degration and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?
Jamie Jacquart 10/16/2019 7:45 AMWe live on the south coast of Massachusetts, in an area with a lot of textile and manufacturing. Turns out lots of people have been polluting our land and waters in ways that are harmful to both. Cleaning them up is expensive, but possible. Re-use of the spaces requires creativity and can revitalize the economy for what is to come next. I'm hopeful that all communities are able to do the hard work and recover from their past harmful actions. -
Jamie Jacquart 10/11/2019 1:01 PMReady for a weekend and a little more time to be able to put into some of my one time challenges! -
Jamie Jacquart 10/11/2019 1:00 PMIn a day that swept by quickly, it was a challenge to get in my work for the challenge, but I made at least my daily challenges!
