High Impact Action Track
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Waste
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Food
Whole Foods Diet
I will enjoy 2 meal(s) each day free of processed foods.
Nature
Practice Gratitude for Earth
I will spend 10 minute(s) each day outside, practicing gratitude (prayer, meditation, journaling, etc.) for Earth and the nature surrounding me.
Nature
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a 12-minute walk outside each day.
Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 each day that I do this.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Audrey Jablonski 10/20/2019 8:39 PMToday I met up with some friends for a drink. Instead of driving and arriving in 4 minutes, I opted to walk instead. I brought my dog with me too, so we both got some exercise and fresh air. I love the neighborhood I live in, and I enjoy our little walks like these. Since starting this challenge, I've been pushing myself to walk the neighborhood more often even if it takes more time to get somewhere. Unrelated, I also made a hearty veggie soup for dinner. Free of processed ingredients, will feed me and my partner for several meals. : ) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
Audrey Jablonski 10/20/2019 8:34 PMI feel that by walking around the city rather than driving, you learn a lot more. You experience the neighborhoods differently, interact with more people on a personal level, and really get to take it all in. -
Audrey Jablonski 10/16/2019 3:33 PMWhen driving is necessary, I have been pushing to car pool more and more often. Yesterday, some friends and I went on a tour of the Shanghai tunnels. Eight of us piled into one of my friends vans. This could have easily become a trip of four cars, but we chose this option instead. -
Audrey Jablonski 10/13/2019 2:21 PMLate post, but Friday night my partner and I went to a show at the Crystal Ballroom. Instead of taking a lyft or bus, we opted to walk the 2 miles home afterwards! Got to enjoy the night and get some fresh air! -
Audrey Jablonski 10/09/2019 5:20 PMI work at an all organic vegan juice bar, so while working, I have the opportunity to eat and drink whole plant-based foods and drinks that are unprocessed. It's great! -
Audrey Jablonski 10/07/2019 2:26 PMBack in Portland, making efforts to walk about town rather than drive. Today I walked to the grocery store and spent some time outside, as well as brought re-usable bags for my purchases. Focused on limiting packaged items. -
Audrey Jablonski 10/04/2019 7:03 AMCurrently I am in Illinois visiting family and friends. Rather than driving down to the city, I am opting to take the train there and back. :)
