  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

    Emma Hodge's avatar
    Emma Hodge 10/04/2019 4:15 PM
I am able to interact with others when walking, rather than driving. It is also nice to be able to take in the scenery and see all the small changes that I would have missed if I was driving.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?

    Emma Hodge 10/04/2019 4:11 PM
I am better able to enjoy my food when not eating with distractions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Try a New Way to Prep
Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

I'd like to preserve some produce from my family's garden, including pears and cucumbers.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health Go get a check up
How do you practice self care?

I practice self care by exercising at least 3 times a week.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Limit Social Media
Social media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?

    Emma Hodge's avatar
    Emma Hodge 10/03/2019 4:00 PM
I feel more productive, and have noticed I am able to get more things done.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Say No to Plastic Straws
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    Emma Hodge's avatar

Single-use items I use on a regular basis include coffee cups and paper plates. A reusable coffee mug could be substituted for coffee cups. Ceramic plates could be used instead of paper plates.
