REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Tom Gregg 10/21/2019 7:33 AMOrlando's electric plant is coal powered, with most of it's waste being condensed into solid blocks. These are disposed of in a landfill. With Florida's groundwater being so important, the biggest fears are run off from these disposed blocks contaminating the ground water. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicitySocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyYour utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?
Tom Gregg 10/11/2019 1:24 PMWe contacted our energy company for a free energy savings kit. It gave us a list of energy saving upgrades they offer rebates for, as well as giving us: light bulbs, a reduced flow shower head, wall socket insulated backing, faucet aerators, and insulation tape, as well as instructions on how to use all of them. I guess we have our weekend projects laid out for us now. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking, or driving?
Tom Gregg 10/07/2019 12:02 PMMy commute is short and solitary, but riding my bike is far less stressful than dealing with traffic.-
