I'd like to spend more time reflecting on my relationships with people.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Getting up and getting outside is grounding both mentally and physically. It helps to orient yourself with the key things that can help you move forward in your day.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Leave No Trace
Educator Stephanie Kaza advises her students to focus on what they care about most when addressing the enormity of ecological problems. Is there a specific area you feel particularly called to work on?

I feel pretty strongly about intentionally buy-cotting (instead of boycotting) products that are not eco-friendly. That's why I wear Rothy's and refuse to put my veggies and fruits in plastic at the store.

    Nature Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?

Being outside relaxes my mind and body. I love the smells, sounds, and feeling of leaves crunching under my feet. Plus the Adirondack Mountains in autumn are absolutely stunning. I've found ways to bring along my friends to find togetherness while quietly immersing ourselves in nature.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Five minute showers are an impressive step toward reducing your water footprint. What is the next step you can take?

I have started using more eco-friendly settings on my appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, etc.). I think it's hard to convince others to change their habits but you can create settings so that the whole household engages in the practices without even having to think about it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Meet My Local Farmers
When you know who produces your food, you are connecting personally to your complex regional food system. What are the advantages of knowing who produces your food and where it comes from? Do you think this might enable someone to advocate for a better quality of life for those who produce their food, both near and far?

Advantages - you make a personal connection with the morals, ethics, and mindset of the people growing the food that feeds your body. You also gain trust.

I am a farmer's daughter and constantly advocate for better livelihoods for farmers around the world.
