Water
5-Minute Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers.

Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 6 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Simplicity
De-Clutter My Home
I will de-clutter, clean, and donate or recycle unneeded items in my home.

Jake Epstein 10/16/2019 7:06 AMSo far, my Eco-Challenge has been going pretty good. It feels nice to think that I might be making a difference, even if it's small. My families electric bill has been going down, so it's also benefiting me personally. My house feels cleaner, because I de-cluttered a couple rooms and I wake up feeling a little happier. So, I think that the eco-challenge is improving my life and hopefully others too.-
Susan Niver 10/19/2019 6:36 PMThat's terrific! Keep up the good work.
What things have you been doing to reduce your electricity use? -
