  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Turn it off
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

Electricity is generated at a power station in my area. This means it takes up land that animals and humans could be living on or making a productive space for humanity.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Work from Home
It takes the average worker in the United States 26 minutes to travel to work. One way to fix long commutes would be to make cities more affordable. An even simpler option: promote the use of telework. Are you in an industry that would allow you to work from home? What are some obstacles you might find yourself facing while working from home?

Yes, I am in an industry where I can work from home sometimes. The obstacles I face from home are not having access to all the office equipment I need for my job. One way I can manage that is to prepare my work using the office equipment while I am in the office so that I have everything I need for when I do work from home.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

Taking a class with friends, going on a hike on the weekend, or turning an activity into a fun time with friends and family.

Brushing my teeth in the shower to save water.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Adjust the Thermostat
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

Just to be mindful of how much energy I am using. Turn lights off when I leave a room, use LED lightbulbs, and don't let the water run unless I am using it.
