Community
Talk To My Friends and Colleagues
I will research the social or environmental issues in my community that matter to me and tell 1 friends and/or colleagues each day about what I learn.
Health
Healthy Sleep
Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 30 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.
Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 each day that I do this.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 45 minute(s) each day.
Food
Plant an Herb Garden
I will plant an herb garden in my home, workplace, or dorm room.
Simplicity
Limit Social Media
I will limit my social media use to once each day reducing my daily use by 30 minute(s)
Nature
Support Local Pollinators
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will spend 10 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Power Down the ComputerWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Jeffrey Demirjian 10/18/2019 1:30 PMWho knew I could save 1.1 lbs of CO2 every day just by powering down my monitors instead of just letting them stay in sleep mode while I'm not using the computer. One of the easiest ways I can help the planet, by turning off my monitors once my work day is complete. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Jeffrey Demirjian 10/14/2019 11:07 AMExercising on a consistent basis has given me more energy throughout the day especially towards the afternoon. I have also noticed a significant change in my heart rate. Lowering my resting heart rate. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Limit Social MediaSocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
Jeffrey Demirjian 10/08/2019 1:47 PMI never realized exactly how much of my day was spent with social media. I have been spending way to much time on social media when I could have been spending more time with my family and friends. It's been nice to spend more direct quality time with friends and family instead of interacting online via social media.
