  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

I will often buy a new disposable bag if I don't have one of mine available.  If that is not an option - I will choose paper as it can be recycled.  If I find that I have to use a plastic bag, which is very rare, I return it to stores that have reusable/recyclable collection for those types of bags.

This is easy to do and so worth the effort.  AND my cloth bags are so much easier to carry.

Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

Excited to get started on this.  It is very challenging to make this change, however, I find from past experience that the rewards are ten fold the effort!!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
Consider the ways you can garden: a plot of land? a patio container? hanging basket? windowsill gardens? What would work best for your living situation and lifestyle?

I use my fresh herbs through the winter.  They are surprisingly hardy.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

I would spend it on putting together a bigger garden or add to my greenhouse!
