Elaine's actions
Create Your Own Action
Turn off all types of ghost power and beyond
I will add this to my family packing list/spreadsheet for long trips. I will then make sure on longer trips, i.e. Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, etc. that all power is turned off at source or power strip. I have thought about this for the last months/year and this will make me do it and teach my spouse and kids about it.
Transportation
Car Share
I will sign up for a car-sharing service, or organize car sharing with my neighbors, to cut down on the number of vehicles on the road.
Community
Volunteer in my Community
I will volunteer 4 hour(s) in my community during the challenge.
Community
Join my Neighborhood Association
I will join my neighborhood association or another local group of decision makers.
Simplicity
De-Clutter My Home
I will de-clutter, clean, and donate or recycle unneeded items in my home.
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 1 meatless meal(s) and/or 0 vegan meal(s) each day this week.
Food
Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
I will watch 1 documentary(ies) about food sovereignty: the right of local peoples to control their own food systems including markets, ecological resources, food cultures and production methods.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?
