Bonnie's actions
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Simplicity
Meditate
I will meditate or create a moment of silence for 5 minute(s) each day to reflect on things important to me.
Waste
Use a Reusable Mug
I will avoid sending 1 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 20 minute(s) each day.
Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Say No to Plastic StrawsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Bonnie Byrd 10/22/2019 10:23 AMVegetable bags for sure at the grocery store. I need to take the time to purchase reusable vegetables bags and take them along with my reusable grocery shopping bags. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Bonnie Byrd 10/22/2019 10:21 AMI have been using reusable cups for awhile now and actually feel guilty when I forget it and use a disposable cup because I know what an impact it makes. I have a reusable cup at my desk at work and also several at home to use so they are always available. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Bonnie Byrd 10/22/2019 10:18 AMPracticing gratitude helps you realized everything you have to be thankful for and motivates you to provide the same to others. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Bonnie Byrd 10/22/2019 10:17 AMI can go for walks with my family on Sundays so they can get exercise too! -
Bonnie Byrd 10/21/2019 9:58 AMThis has been a great way to remind myself to keep doing great things for our environment!
