Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Waste
Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
I will spend 20 minutes learning about sustainable fashion and begin trying to practice it in my own life.
Waste
Choose Two-Sided Printing
I will save up to .21 lbs (.09 kg) of paper each day by switching from one-sided printing to two-sided.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Robert Brundidge 10/22/2019 10:24 AMI stopped using single use straws years ago. I keep a metal one in the car just in case. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Robert Brundidge 10/22/2019 10:23 AMI always keep 2 in my car, just in case. Paper over plastic if absolutely necessary. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteChoosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?
Robert Brundidge 10/22/2019 10:22 AMI changed the default on our printer. Outside of loan doc's which must be 1-sided, nearly everything can be done 2 sided. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteHow can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?
Robert Brundidge 10/22/2019 10:20 AMUse what I already own, pair things differently. Shop locally when possible.
