Transportation
Support Public Transportation
I will make 2 phone call(s) and/or send 2 emails each day to public officials to advocate for a more comprehensive public transportation system in my region.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWater 5-Minute ShowersFive minute showers are an impressive step toward reducing your water footprint. What is the next step you can take?
Raymond Bridges 10/19/2019 2:15 PMWhen I take showers, I only get my body wet with the water, then I turn off the water when I am putting soap on my body. After I put the soap all over my body, and shampoo my hair, then I turn on the water, and clean my body off. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Support Public TransportationHow do residents get involved in community decision making in your area? What stakeholders are involved in the economic aspect of planning decisions in your community?
Raymond Bridges 10/17/2019 10:52 AMWe have a community meeting, and discuss how we can improve our community. The businesses that are operating in my community our the economic stakeholders, -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Use Public TransitThe US spends roughly 20% of its federal budget on defense. In contrast, 2% goes to education, 20% goes to social security and 3% goes to transportation infrastructure. Do these numbers surprise you at all? Why or why not? How would you adjust them if you could?
Raymond Bridges 10/17/2019 10:51 AMNo these numbers do not surprise me, because it seems that President Trump is very interested in funding our US Military instead of the public transportation infrastructure. I would make 20% of funding go towards public transportation infrastructure.-
Michael Wzorek 10/22/2019 9:19 PMNot to mention that the pres. might be profiting off of his investment. Expecting a return on investment when it comes to earthly preservation is not sustainable. Not making them to begin with is doubly unsustainable

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Improve a Bus StopHow can you advocate for transportation systems which minimize environmental impact while also meeting human needs?
Raymond Bridges 10/17/2019 10:49 AMI was able to call my alderwoman, and ask her to please improve the bus stops by my house, and in my neighborhood, and the village was able to do that by creating new Pace Bus stops. -
Raymond Bridges 10/16/2019 7:35 AMMy challenge is going well. I have decided to challenge my self on bringing my own lunch with me to school, so that I do not create more waste by throwing away the plastic containers my food goes into. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Raymond Bridges 10/15/2019 7:02 AMI am using a reusable steel water bottle now, and I like using it, because it keeps my water cool, and I also use a thermos too, because it’s better than using a plastic container that can cause a lot of pollution. I have been using my steel water bottle for a while, and I have been able to make it a habit. -
Raymond Bridges 10/02/2019 12:57 PMI was able to not use any plastic bottles because I've been drinking out of my own water bottle, so it has helped me not waste plastic bottles, and hurt the environment with the pollution of plastic bottles.
