Stephen's actions
Nature
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a 30-minute walk outside each day.
Waste
Use a Reusable Mug
I will avoid sending 5 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 2 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.

Stephen Bowman 10/22/2019 1:42 PMContinuing with my goals of contributing less waste, and completing my daily 30 minute walks. Granted, my walks are only to the MAX line typically, but better than driving! -
Stephen Bowman 10/20/2019 9:01 AMStarted the day off by, doing laundry, but instead of driving to the laundromat, I loaded up all of my dirty clothes into a sack, and walked about 1.5 miles to go wash my clothes. I got rained on a little bit, but it's the Pacific Northwest, right? What are you gonna do? -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
Stephen Bowman 10/20/2019 8:59 AMI really enjoy the walkability factor of living in Portland. My girlfriend and I live close in NE, and she's able to walk to work everyday, and it's super easy and great exercise for me to walk to the MAX or bus stop to utilize public transit. -
Stephen Bowman 10/17/2019 6:55 AMToday I walked from my house to the MAX station which is about a 35 minute walk, and about a mile and a half. This is something that I do every day as I much prefer walking to driving anyway so this challenge works out nicely for me!
