Waste
Advocate For More Food Packaging Options
I will advocate for alternatives to single-use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, at work, or on campus.
Health
Learn About Local Environmental Justice Concerns
I will spend 30 minutes researching environmental justice concerns in my region, their causes, and local initiatives to address these concerns.
Simplicity
Research My Investment Portfolio
I will find out what stocks and bonds are in my investment account portfolio to determine if they align with my values (e.g. environmental, social responsibility, community).
Waste
Visit a Waste Management Facility
I will spend at least 60 minutes visiting a local dump/transfer station, material recovery facility, and/or landfill to learn about the waste stream.
Food
Try a New Way to Prep
I will try a new method of food preparation, such as canning, pickling, or baking bread.
Transportation
Go by Bike
I will commute by bike 6 mile(s) each day and avoid sending up to 71.93 lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.
Health
Eliminate Toxic Plastics
I will avoid buying toxic plastics - including polycarbonate, polystyrene and polyvinyl - and instead replace them with bioplastic or durable options.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 30 minute(s) each day.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Advocate For More Food Packaging OptionsWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Virginia Bowers 10/18/2019 8:19 AMOne of my many concerns is just the amount of garbage we all generate. Plastics seem to be one of the worse as they don't decompose and can break down into micro plastics. My goal is to figure out how I can use less single use plastics, but also advocate for less packaging at my local grocery store. Now I bring my own mesh bags for fruit and vegies and skip anything in a clam shell.
