Alyssa Boll
"My goal in this was to become more aware of the waste that I produce and the ways I can minimize my impact. I'm excited to now own a bike, have a decluttered apartment, and have a game plan on how to reduce my environmental impact going forward! "

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Learn About & Practice Sustainable FashionHow can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?
Alyssa Boll 10/14/2019 7:59 AMI can still enjoy clothes shopping in a more sustainable way by thrift shopping and trading with friends! But on top of that, I can shop less in general by sticking to quality clothes - this will be easier for outer layers like gloves and winter coats, or underlayers, which aren't as susceptible to fast-changing trends. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go by BikeHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking, or driving?
Alyssa Boll 10/14/2019 7:57 AMI actually went out and bought a bike to complete this challenge! I was so intimidated by the thought of biking to work, but even me (far from an athlete) and my 80's 3-speed made it in just 20 minutes. Considering my drive is 12 minutes, biking doesn't take much more time - when the weather is nice, I might as well bike for both me and the planet. Plus I may get a new hobby out of this (:
