Spending time outdoors allows you to put things into perspective.  I believe if you truly reflect on the beauty of nature, you fill find your place and feel a sense of peace.  So glad I got so spend this weekend outdoors and with nature.  It is good for the soul!

Use nature as much as possible.  Use the sunshine for light and heat. For example, read a book using the light from a window instead of a lamp.   Limit the use of electronics and power them down when not in use.  Adjust the thermostat a few degrees (cooler in the fall/winter) and warmer in the summer.

Kathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How do we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?

I believe when you truly see the beauty of nature you will do all that you can to keep it beautiful.  On the flip side, seeing the damage we are causing this earth (photos of the ocean of trash and videos of marine life caught in plastic) can also move you to want to be part of the solution.
I am grateful I live in the Pacific Northwest and can enjoy the beauty around me!
