Volunteering as a tree planter or inspector in your neighborhood is great fun! Check out nonprofits in your area and join a volunteer tree planting to help protect our planet's future. Some nonprofits even provide low-cost trees for your own yard. Amazing!

One of my favorite transit advocacy actions is introducing colleagues and students to the PCC Shuttle. In addition to connecting distant campuses, PCC provides wonderful access to downtown Portland from Sylvania on the Orange Line. Skip the drive and save the parking fee!

Growing up in a big city shaped my mindset to consider public-transit options before any other mode of transportation. It's challenging, but well worth it!
