Simplicity
Research Impact Investing
Using the links provided below, I will research impact investing and determine if it is right for me.
Nature
Forage for My Food
I will use the 'Learn More' resources below to find where I can forage for my own food locally.
Water
Insulate Water Pipes and Water Heater
I will avoid wasting water while waiting for the shower or sink to heat up.
Nature
Support Local Pollinators
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will spend 120 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.
Nature
Explore My Area
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.
Energy
Switch to Cold Water
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
Health
Learn About Local Environmental Justice Concerns
I will spend 240 minutes researching environmental justice concerns in my region, their causes, and local initiatives to address these concerns.
Energy
Online Energy Audit
I will complete an online energy audit of my home, office, or dorm room and identify my next steps for saving energy.
Waste
Use a Reusable Mug
I will avoid sending 5 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Waste
Choose Two-Sided Printing
I will save up to .21 lbs (.09 kg) of paper each day by switching from one-sided printing to two-sided.
Waste
Go Paperless
I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by 3.4lbs (1.5kg) a month or 41lbs (18.6kg) a year by opting into paperless billing, ending unwanted subscriptions and opting out of junk mail.
Simplicity
Eat Mindfully
I will eat all of my meals without distractions, e.g., phone, computer, TV, or newspaper.
Community
Connect with a Nonprofit
I will connect with a local nonprofit, environmental or otherwise, and find out how I can get involved or become a member.
Simplicity
Needs Vs. Wants
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

Thank you everyone for all your supports.
We are at no. 4th among 44 HP team ( as per-this timing.. our score is 19775 and the 3rd place is 22337). If we can beat them, it'a cool...
But even if not, we are an amazing team, considering this is our first time to create team for Malaysia haha.. It is amazing to see many people are passionate about sustainability and your comments are cool. KUDOS! -
Christine Silvia Ayal 10/21/2019 4:28 PMI would miss this challenge! It is great to read and learn about various sustainability topics and find a way to implement it locally. The resources are fantastic and easy to read. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Research Impact InvestingHow might impact investing help you better live your values?
Christine Silvia Ayal 10/21/2019 4:26 PMI find it a great idea to focus financial fund that you invest to push for practical changes in social environmental issues that you are passionate about.
By expecting company to have measurable objectives and excellent perfomance in social environmental indicator, they would mobilize their resources into it - strategic and technical expertises and networks .
It could lead to a more sustainable changes compared to simply charity. -
Christine Silvia Ayal 10/21/2019 3:20 AMWe are in our last 2 days of ecochallenge, let's use these opportunities to learn more about various sustainability issues and add our impacts! -

What is your chief motivation for foraging?
Christine Silvia Ayal 10/20/2019 1:36 AMFood foraging activities are known to also improve your psychological well-being, spending more time with nature will help you to appreciate the biodiversity around us. -
Christine Silvia Ayal 10/20/2019 1:32 AMFood foraging concept is not new in Singapore, there are few organization that provides workshops and learning experiences to encourage urban food foraging and farming. Falling fruit is an interesting page too, now I know where i could go for adventure and find jackfruits, durian, mango, cassava and rambutan :)
