Sometimes you have to think outside the box to find an easy fix to your complicated process.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

You can attempt to swap clothes with friends, visit second hand clothing stores and learn how to mend some of your clothes (or take them to a professional) to give them life again.

Wow! Can't believe we are near the end of the eco-challenge. I can definitely do better.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Buy From a Farmers Market
What is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?

I could buy less packaged produce such as greens (these tend to come in plastic containers).
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Work from Home
It takes the average worker in the United States 26 minutes to travel to work. One way to fix long commutes would be to make cities more affordable. An even simpler option: promote the use of telework. Are you in an industry that would allow you to work from home? What are some obstacles you might find yourself facing while working from home?

Yes, I am allowed to work from home. I find it distracting being so close to my bed but also do not have a proper working space that can help me get into the zone. I also miss chatting with my coworkers and having lunch with them when I am alone at home.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Try a New Way to Prep
Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

I love summer fruit and home made food from my aunt. I like to freeze those dishes to enjoy when I am feeling homesick.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?

    Fatema Adamji's avatar

It can make you appreciate nature more, help ground yourself as you step away from your daily hustle and bustle an as well improve your mood!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

    Fatema Adamji 10/23/2019 9:17 AM
Yes, this is a huge amount of wasted food. I would rather use this on my rent!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?

    Fatema Adamji's avatar
    Fatema Adamji 10/23/2019 9:16 AM
There is more access to food and people can afford to. Eating more meat means more land is required for pasture which leads to less land available for forests (which are important for oxygen creation) and this contributes to global warming
